Covid-19: Before The Start Of The School Year, Nice Will Reactivate Its Screening Centers

Christian Estrosi, president of the Nice Côte d'Azur metropolis, announced a series of measures on the sidelines of the metropolitan council this Monday, June 27, in order to stem the epidemic outbreak.

No sooner do the children think of the summer holidays than the start of the school year is already under discussion. While the indicators of the epidemic are on the rise again everywhere in the country, including in the Alpes-Maritimes, the Metropolis of Nice is anticipating the return to school.

The president of the metropolis, Christian Estrosi, announced this Monday morning during the metropolitan council a series of measures aimed at curbing this new epidemic outbreak which could impact the smooth running of the back to school next September.

"In the department, the positivity rate reached 21.7% last week," said Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice and president of the metropolitan council.

The Agency for Health, Environmental Safety and Risk Management will therefore reactivate its screening centers and in particular saliva screenings for children from August 3 in the premises of rue Saint François de Paule/rue Max Gallo in Nice.

The week of August 29 - that of the start of the school year - ephemeral centers will be multiplied within the city of Nice to allow screening and detection of the presence of the virus in a child before his return to school.
