The American president gave his first annual State of the Union address on Tuesday, March 1.

More than a year after the attack on the Capitol by supporters of Donald Trump,  the United States Congress offered a rare scene on Tuesday, March 1.  Republicans and Democrats rose in unison to show their support for the Ukrainian ambassador, guest of honor at Joe Biden's State of the Union address. The Democrat placed the war in Ukraine at the heart of the first address to Congress  of his term. 

The context of this annual ritual, which allows the American president to detail the main lines of his policy, was special this year. Since 1945, the Head of State had never delivered this speech "when a land war of such magnitude and scope was underway in Europe" , recalls the  New York Times * .
