Afghanistan, immigration, Algeria… What to remember from the interview with Emmanuel Macron

At the microphone of France Inter, this Tuesday, October 5, 2021, Emmanuel Macron spoke of several international subjects including the situation of women in Afghanistan, the military interventions of France or the diplomatic crisis with Algeria.

The situation is terrible for Afghan women today. This Tuesday, October 5, Emmanuel Macron gave an interview to France Inter about the situation of women in Afghanistan . He also mentioned immigration, French intervention in Mali and the diplomatic crisis with Algeria.

On the situation in Afghanistan

Emmanuel Macron first spoke of the situation in Afghanistan since the Taliban took power this summer. Those who thought the Taliban would be more liberal have an answer , said the President of the Republic. In a form of apparent stability , he condemned obscurantism , especially for Afghan women.

The Head of State announced that the issue would be discussed at the G20 and he hopes that a common position can be adopted on the subject. For his part, he set three conditions for recognition of the Taliban on the international scene . The first is to continue to allow military evacuations. The second is to have clarity with regard to terrorists. They have rather given signs in this direction but the situation is fragile , judged Emmanuel Macron. Finally, he calls for respect for human rights, particularly the dignity of women.

I will not change the Taliban regime, we do not have the means but we must advance our values , insisted the French president.

On military interventions

While the Taliban's resumption of power followed the withdrawal of American forces from the country, Emmanuel Macron returned to the conditions of the intervention in 2001 and did not want to question the decision taken by Jacques Chirac. Intervention in Afghanistan is first and foremost a choice of the USA, France intervened as an ally.

The international community intervened in substitution of the sovereignty of a country. It can not work , however recognized the head of state.

Asked about the situation in Mali, Emmanuel Macron said the situation was different since France intervened at the request of the Malian government. Without France in the Sahel, there will no longer be a government in Evil. If President Hollande had not chosen to intervene, the terrorists would have taken control of the country.

The French president however recalled that the French presence had to evolve in Mali . The French army does not have to replace the non-work of the Malian state. We want to refocus on the fight against terrorists , he said.

On the migration issue

While at the start of the Afghan crisis, Emmanuel Macron declared that he wanted to protect France against significant irregular migratory flows , the French president notes today that there is no wave. We must not stir up fears , he insisted.

He recalled that 2,600 Afghans had been received thanks to military evacuations and insisted on the fact that they should not only be protected but that they should be able to integrate.

On the diplomatic crisis in Algeria

While relations have been greatly strained between France and Algeria in recent days , Emmanuel Macron returned to his remarks reported in Le Monde where he evoked a memorial rent on which Algeria would have been built.

I have the greatest respect for the Algerian people and I maintain cordial relations with President Tebboune. We started a job, I did not spare us with our own history. But when the question was asked about the reception of Benjamin Stora's report in Algeria, I said the reality , he justified.

Far-right pro-Trump activists tried for sedition

The sedition trial of several members of the far-right American militia Oath Keepers, including its founder Stewart Rhodes, came to a head on Monday, with prosecutors accusing them of having heavily armed themselves on January 6, 2021 to attack the Capitol in order to keep Donald Trump in power. Justice Department lawyer Jeffrey Nestler claimed Mr Rhodes, a former serviceman known for his black eye patch and fiery rants, knew exactly what he was doing as he led his militia members to headquarters of the US Congress. Showing videos of the violent attack carried out by dozens of members of the group dressed in full combat gear, Mr Nestler said Stewart Rhodes led them “like a general on the battlefield”, as the chosen ones tried to certify the victory of Democrat Joe Biden in the presidential election. On Jan. 6, 2021, the Oath Keepers "developed a plan for armed rebellion ... plotting to oppose the government of the United States by force," he said. “They did not go to the capi

United States: a truck full of vibrators blocks the highway

The accident happened in broad daylight in the United States. A truck full of vibrators overturned and blocked a highway. These images have made the rounds of social networks and American media. On Wednesday, September 14, a traffic accident took place in the United States on a highway. A truck overturned on its side, leaving much of its cargo toppling over. The truck was carrying vibrators and lubricants.  It was not an accident like any other and fortunately no one was injured. After the accident, the truck, obliquely on the three lanes, blocked traffic. The image is as impressive as it is unusual. The vehicle is completely overturned and we guess, for several tens of meters, a crowd of cardboard, mostly open and their contents on the road.  This famous content, which has earned so much media coverage for this accident, is a model of a pink vibrator. The Vice journalists even  found the model  of vibrators, brand "Adam & Eve", the "G-spot touch finger vibrator"
